Set-up begins with an optional traditional Anishinabe Ceremony.

We share and teach to promote cross cultural understanding.  It is important to know that our culture is not for sale.  We share our Anishinabe philosophy so that you have accurate information on how to respect our traditions, and therefore understand what is acceptable and appropriate. In this way you will get the highest possible enjoyment, the greatest pleasure, and the most authentic experience with your Teepee.  Tribal Rights cannot be sold, nor granted by anyone.

Our full service seminar includes history and origins of the Teepee, Tribal and cultural variations of Teepees, information on all details and aspects of your personal Teepee, and much more.  You may have as many staff in the seminar as you wish, and you will have the opportunity to do a supervised set up after the demonstration and information session.

The set up seminar includes, history, factors affecting the set-up of a Teepee, site selection, some traditional information, pole arrangements, and set up.  There are detailed exercises in managing the Teepee including: proper fire management, as well as using the smoke flaps and skirt for warmth, cooling, and air conditioning.

We do an actual hands on set up.  In the whole day seminar, if time permits, clients also get to do a supervised setup.  You learn how to set up a Teepee for short and for long term camps, quick set ups, setups with only one Pole, just a few poles, or NO Poles.  We share comfort techniques for several different weather conditions, breaking camp and more!  Some information on use and care of the Teepee cover and poles is included in the whole day seminar.  In some circumstances we can provide a meal of traditional Anishinabe corn soup if requested well enough in advance.
